OMAS – What You’re Looking For [My First Moth]

A visit to British deejay-producer Omas’ soundcloud serves up a wealth of smokey, jazzual trip hop but for his sevens on My First Moth he’s turned on the gas.

On ‘What You’re Looking For’ the moody croon of the Delphonics’ ‘What You See Is What You Get’ is looped to infinity before being iron clad in heavy beatwork salvaged from Les Baxter’s ‘Hoigin’ Machine’.

I can’t overstate how good this tune makes me feel. Perfectly pitched and fronting an indie aesthetic that owes as much to the sample’s hip hop heritage as its sweet and sultry soul origins, Omas has turned out some heavy dancefloor heat.
