There’s not much to say about ‘tasche-sporting, fun-loving, French outfit Deluxe beyond the fact that they have a penchant for outmoded facial hair stylings, know how to front a good time, and hail from Marseille. At least, they’re otherwise a bit of a mystery to me.
Signed to the Chinese Man label and occupying similar territory to C2C, Deluxe again espouse a winning combination of hip hop sensibilities, party jazz and funk chops, and punchy Gallic house production, this time with live instrumentation and ballsy, tongue-in-cheek female vocals baiting an irresistible hook.
Quite what they’re on about on this cut isn’t entirely clear either. Something about an equestrian kissing technique.
